The Royal Brotherhood of the Holy Chalice
On 6 January 1916, the Holy Chalice was definitely exposed in the old gothic Chapter House (14th century) and the Archbishop José María Salvador y Barrera approved the statutes of the “Royal Brotherhood of the Holy Chalice, members of the Valencian titled nobility” in order to contribute to the sacred relic worship.
Its first president was Mr. Luis Vich, Baron of Llaurí, co-founder of this highly regarded association together with the Baron of Saint Barbara.
It has helped to improve the Holy Chalice chapel considerably. They adopted to celebrate “The Holy Chalice Thursday” on the first Thursday of each month.
This Royal Brotherhood has a section in Madrid, too.
